New observation: 3 d) Pressing the light bulb button can only flash the light for 1/10 second. I suspect low battery. I bought batteries but have not changed it. Waiting for a few more months to see if the battery really dies.

Jan 26, 2016 · Thanks for the reply. After about 3 weeks on the patio, it is now on Medium charge. But the buttons still don't work. At this point, I'm dismissing it as a dud. None of the known button combinations work either. Backlight neither. It's showing the wrong time and can't change it. About to get a new one. Not sure if I should get another G-shock.
